TOGETHER AGAIN: Every Weds for six years, I’ve met (online) with these guys and studied the Bible with them.
We’ve shared highs, lows, and everything in-between. Seen massive answers to prayer and suffered hilarious (in hindsight) fails. Most importantly, we’ve grown in love and appreciation for the Lord and one another.
Today, we managed to (nearly) all get into one room together. Still short one person (big up Terry - we’ll get you here one day), but 6/7 isn’t bad! ❤️
TO GOD BE THE GLORY: Amazing Bank Holiday Saturday afternoon spent in Purley Town Centre talking to people and giving out free Bibles.
Within minutes of rocking up to the Tesco underpass (gotta go where the punters are) we’d given away three bibles, been hugged several times, and ended up being asked to pray for so many things I think we spent more time with our eyes closed than open!
It’s so funny how people think God is so big and unknowable that He doesn’t want anything to do with them when it’s really quite the opposite. One lady actually made me crack up when she said was happy for us to pray for her “but I don’t want to bother God as He might have more important things to do” 😅
I was particularly heartened by how many groups of young people came up to us and took Bibles and asked questions. Zero inhibitions or embarrassment about expressing interest in faith and God in front of their friends. Much bolder than I was at their age - and most people who are two or three time their ages now!
Ended up having great conversations with believers, non-believers, and all sorts of inbetweeners. Got to work on my tan as well. Very much a win-win situation ☀️💁🏼♀️
📚We gave out 27 Bibles (and some @the4points gospel tracts) in total. We @gracevineyard_purley still have about 150 more Bibles to give out, so we’ll be out again on future Saturdays, look out for us and come say ‘Hi’.
