We are excited to announce that Mark ‘Cambo’ Campbell is stepping into the role of Station Manager at 89 7FM! Cambo has been a cherished part of our station for the past seven years, starting out with guest appearances before hosting his very own show. Now, he’s taking on a new challenge as the leader of our dedicated team.
Cambo’s passion and extensive background in business, finance and volunteer management means he is well-equipped to lead us into the future. He is sure to bring a fresh and exciting energy to the station and we can’t wait to see how his leadership will shape the next chapter of 89 7FM.
But don’t worry! Cambo isn’t leaving the airwaves behind. Every Friday, he’ll continue to retreat to his ‘happy place’ in the studio to host Friday Free for All with Cambo.

As we welcome Cambo, we also want to express our deepest gratitude to our outgoing Station Manager, Steve Willis. Steve has been crucial at 89 7FM, bringing over 25 years of experience in the services industry to our station. His expertise in business management, leadership, employee relations, and staff development has been invaluable, steering us through both exciting and challenging times.
While he may be stepping back from the day-to-day operations, Steve isn’t disappearing completely. You will still be able to listen to him every Sunday on Country Roads with Steve Willis.

On this Friday Free For All with Cambo - 89 7FM... Our resident sports gurus Gordon Allen and Mark Campbell will be chatting with two special guests...
With their training schedule arranged, a live and exclusive interview with Aussie Olympic Artistic Swimmers, Carolyn Rayna Buckle and Kiera Gazzard have been confirmed for 1.15pm on Friday, 21 June during Cambo's Free For All.
For the Paris bound Olympians, it will be Rayna's and Kiera's 2nd Olympic appearance as they finished 9th in team at the Tokyo Olympics and are looking to improve on that finish as part of a young and on-the-rise Australia Artistic Swimming team.
The team is currently training at the National Centre of Excellence in Perth but you'll be able to hear first-hand how they are preparing for the Paris Olympics.

At 89 7FM, we believe in nurturing the next generation of broadcasters – which is why we love to host students from schools within the Northern Suburbs for their practical workplace learning. This year, we are pleased to welcome Ethan from Kinross College.
Ethan, 16, has a passion for EDM and broadcasting. While playing guitar in the music program at school he discovered DJing, which he says he finds less stressful on his hands. Once he started DJing he never stopped! He now works as a DJ at weddings and has even played at Encore in Rockingham.
Ethan aspires to become a professional DJ and study Radio after finishing school and we are excited to help him on that journey!
Ethan will gain experience in various aspects of broadcasting, both on air and behind the scenes. He will join our dedicated volunteers in finance, communications, technology, programming, and memberships. You might hear him on air between 4th and 14th July on shows like “One Step Beyond with Dave Elliott”, “Thursday Kickback with Rhonda and Allan” and more.

Our volunteers give us some of their valuable time each week to assist us in various roles within the station, both on air and behind the scenes. We often have roles available, from Program Announcers to Administration roles, most only requiring a few hours a week. Volunteering with us is a great way to be involved in the community, have fun, and meet new and interesting people from all walks of life.
