The life of Masahiko Matsukawa (松川聖彦) is like a movie. After ten years, I finally reunited with him. Before you watch this video, I would like to share some stories about him. Matsukawa is an OG skateboarder from Japan. He has been passionate about skateboarding since the late 1980s and thrived as an apparel brand owner in the 1990s. Some of you might already know, but on March 11, 2011, a massive earthquake struck the Tohoku region of Japan. Matsukawa was based in Ishinomaki, and he lost all his belongings to the tsunami. When I interviewed him in June 2013, he shared how the disaster profoundly changed his life. Rising from the aftermath of the earthquake, he is now 60 years old and still enjoys skateboarding. For two days, we filmed at his favorite skate parks and spots, as well as his atelier. This video captures his daily life from the perspective of skateboarding. Arigato gozaimasu, Matsukawa-san. Big respect, Boss!!!!
