When you have an accident & hear something like wood snapping, but it’s not a bone... you can be sure it’s a ligament. In my case, it was the ACL in my left leg.
After a while, you’ll start using the leg again… but it won’t feel the same. You’ll feel defeated and frustrated. The faster you get the surgery, the better. If you wait 1, 2 or 3 years like I did, you’ll start damaging the meniscus and you’ll limp. People will start calling you old, fat, slow, expired and sadly, they are right.
I chose the artificial graft. Surgery was easier. Recovery was faster. So far, they were right. I’m at month 7, and almost fully recovered. Time will tell. Torn ACL? Fix it. Don’t wait. JUST DO IT.

Când ai un accident și auzi ceva care sună ca o cracă ce se rupe, dar nu e os... poți fi sigur că e un ligament. În cazul meu, a fost ligamentul încrucișat anterior (ACL) de la piciorul stâng.
După un timp, vei începe să folosești din nou piciorul… dar nu va mai fi la fel. Te vei simți învins și frustrat. Cu cât faci operația mai repede, cu atât mai bine. Dacă aștepți 1, 2 sau 3 ani cum am făcut eu, începi să-ți distrugi menisculul și ajungi să șchiopătezi. Lumea va începe să-ți spună că ești bătrân, gras, lent, terminat și din păcate… au dreptate.
Eu am ales grefa artificială. Operația a fost mai ușoară.si recuperarea mai rapidă. Sunt în luna a 7-a dupa operatie și aproape complet recuperat. Timpul va spune.
Ligament rupt? Repară-l. Nu aștepta. FĂ-O PUR ȘI SIMPLU.

We had the chance to train with the amazing team from @StJohnAmbulance at @phantom_stunts_hq and it was a powerful reminder that safety comes first, no matter what you do.
