Yesterday I gave testimony in front of the Chicago Public School board prior Prison Pipeline Pedro termination as CEO of Chicago Public Schools by the Chicago Public Schools Board.
FACT #1
Pedro tried to sue the board before the meeting last night and this a repeat practice of pay me to leave happened AT HIS JOB LAST JOB WHERE HE WAS FIRED and walked away with over $700,000! #failed
FACT #2
This whole “destabilize” talk is a paid PR stunt along with some surrogates who are so hypocritical in their “talking points”. First day of school in 2025, I suggest reading those talking points on the PA system at @englewoodstemhs . #smh
Fact #3
Teachers and EVERYONE who are working so hard to SERVE our children are HERO’s not villains.
My father was an educator for over 40yrs of his life, and we were so happy poor I sat in the back of the class when he taught night school, summer school, and his principal would even let me come his school when I got out of school.
Save our children.
Evolve our schools.

Yesterday Chicago Public School CEO came to City Hall with NO knowledge of the EVIL SCHEME to invest in the PRISON INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX.
✔️Public Schools are $1Billion short from the state in their investment in public schools, however they are moving the money for prison construction.
✔️The governor signed off on this! Pedro the CEO of Public Schools is doing nothing about this!
✔️Mass Incarceration over the NEXT GENERATION of doctors, lawyers, teachers, and leaders!
✔️NEED HELP stopping THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW PRISONS IN THE STATE starting IN LESS THAN 60 DAYS!

Opportunities like this open doors for our young people.
Camp Courage is a hands-on way for youth to build leadership skills, learn teamwork, and explore careers in public safety. I encourage our families to take advantage of this free program offered by the Chicago Fire Department.
Let’s continue creating pathways for the next generation.
Our young people deserve safe, welcoming spaces where they can grow, connect, and thrive.
That’s why I’m proud to partner with Alderwoman Jeanette Taylor for the Southside Youth Explosion on May 23rd at Fuller Park—bringing music, food, games, and valuable resources together for our communities.
‼️FINAL UPDATE: 87TH & COTTAGE WALGREENS‼️
@walgreens and its latest ownership group showed this community no loyalty and no respect, closing this store with no notice after years of support from residents who kept their doors open.
We will not beg a corporation that has turned its back on our neighborhood.
Our community is moving forward.
We have already had productive conversations with the mall ownership team and potential replacements, including CVS.
We are aggressively working toward stronger investment, healthcare access, and new opportunities for this corridor.
Stay encouraged.
This community is united, resilient, and making progress with or without Walgreens.
-Alderman William E. Hall
