THE NEST PROVIDES
“DIY AT ALL COSTS”
TOKYO 2025
Video Director: @rio_tashiro
Production: @localsonly_harajuku@sho_ven1ura
Special thanks to everyone who pulled up and went on the ride and participated in the video! I felt the event captured the ethos of the brands spirit and grassroots ethics. The brand is all about friendship and it was so fun collaborating with my talented friends to have such a great event and film a video.
Thank you so much to everyone who came out yesterday.
A few months ago @localsonly_harajuku told me that him, @sho_ven1ura and @rio_tashiro had an idea for a guerrilla pop up event in Tokyo.
Since I was a teenager I’ve looked up to the pioneers of streetwear who roamed Harajuku and created “the culture” that we know today.
In my early 20s I’d walk around Harajuku in awe of the style, energy, and the way the scenes seamlessly blend together and coexist.
Having a @thenestprovides pop up on those very same streets was a dream realized. For the last decade I’ve wanted to create a brand and host events and bring people together. The best part is that we did it our way, DIY style. That’s THE NEST. Today I am full of gratitude and can’t thank you enough. I appreciate everyone so much.
After Joints show the boys and I took Monday off work to go ride. We ended up doing a 200 miles around Biwa Lake. That’s what it’s all about. Real hard riding, mostly in the fast lane. I forgot to take a picture of my lunch but I had a Gyudon set that was delicious.
Takes KNUCK has returned from nearly two years of sleeping and you can feel his excitement in the air.
What a beautiful life…. Times like these are burned into my memories forever. Whenever I’m riding out here I’m always waiting for somebody to wake me up.
Thanks for the XLCH @george_39u 🦆🦆🦆
30 minute rides always become 2.5 hours. Spent tonight thinking about the last 31 years. Murakami, Salinger and Kerouac are my hero’s who seem to have raised me. I feel less like a boy and more like a man for the first time. I thought about my friends and family members who have transcended to the next life and what they’ve taught me. I’ve picked up alotta good habits but the duality of life means I’ve also picked up alotta bad habits as well this past year. Anyways, another year down and another opportunity to keep trying. I’ve been thinking alot about what the most important thing in my life is and I still can’t quite put my finger on it because I love it all. Instead of growing cold and tired, I think I’ve grown softer and more energetic. The cost of self employment is unlike anything else but you have to go through all of it to get where you want to be I think. “It’s all too much and not enough at the same time” is ringing in my ears constantly.
