Legacy: making a lasting impact, contribution, or impression on future generations
To my Grandad: I am the direct result of your love and sacrifice. A legacy you left behind to ensure the future generations of our family would forever reap the benefits of the hardships you endured. Thank you for always being my number one fan and for never missing a milestone. Although you aren’t here to see this day, I know you’re always cheering me on. I love you always.
To my parents: The baby you carried on your graduation day gets to continue what you started 22 years later. It is a blessing and honor to walk in the legacy and standard you created. Thank you for loving and supporting me no matter what. This journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s because of you that I am able to see it through.
As I walk across the stage today, know that this degree is just as much yours as it is mine. Thank you for never doubting me and encouraging me to always reach for the stars.

At 12 years old when I fell in love with this school, I couldn’t imagine that 10 years later I’d be standing here as an alumna.

Mental Health Matters. It starts with you.
Unfortunately I’m sure a lot of you have seen across social media countless individuals, especially young, losing their fight with mental health to suicide recently. A group of individuals that struck close to home were the football players I’ve been seeing, NFL and College, that while may seemed to have everything in life, decided to end it. That inspired me to team up with @601ways to do this project advocating mental health measures to help the cause. I appreciate Howard University and their students/staff for helping me with this project in an effort to fight back this silent killer that we all deal with. If you’re reading this I want you to know that life is never going to be perfect, but you deserve to live it. I believe in you to fight this battle and to never give up. Peace & happiness are on the other side of this fight. Stay blessed & keep moving forward.
