May 13-17 2026
5U Space is pleased to present a solo booth of new works by Mika Obayashi for NADA New York 2026. Paper made as a fellow at Dieu Donné and sculptures crafted from found materials create an uncanny sense of space that interrogates the boundary between the temporal and the eternal, the physical and the intangible. Functioning like diagrams, these new works reveal rather than represent their meanings.

5U Space is pleased to present its eighth exhibition, Daniel Diasgranados, Dust: A Wandering. Drawing from ongoing projects begun during the COVID-19 pandemic, seven photographs confront a moment in US history defined by rupture and disorientation. Here, memories of an adolescent past, spent carefree in public parks, are revisited and re-visioned in present-day Maryland, Virginia, and Florida. Friends appear outdoors, shuteye, or in thought — powerful acts of resistance against a world demanding productivity, attention, and obedience. Rather than comply, the artist offers stillness; rather than resolution, the images hold space for ambiguity and reflection. Central to the work is an ongoing inquiry: how does a place change over time, and how does memory shape our continued relationship to it?
We are excited to announce that 5U Space is now nomadic. The shift away from a fixed location will deepen our engagement with site-specific work and allow us to meet new audiences where they’re at; prioritizing sustainability and joy in the process.
Our next show, Daniel Diasgranados, Dust: A Wandering, will be hosted by @timespace.phl , an experimental art space in historic Germantown.
Dust: A Wandering opens Saturday, 21 February, 5-8 pm at 5926 Germantown Ave.

Daniel Diasgranados (b. 1996) is an artist working in photography from Prince George’s County, Maryland. He creates longform, serial bodies of work that interrogate themes of the sublime, the surreal and memory. Central to his practice is a deep engagement with the mechanisms of individual and collective memory, examining how these narratives are constructed, fragmented, and shared. He holds a BFA in photography from Virginia Commonwealth University.
