Tracks written, produced and mixed by 5RT on Ngunnawal/Ngambri Land. Pure Space also operates on Gadigal Land. Pure Space and 5RT both acknowledge the traditional custodians of these lands and pay our respects to their elders past, present and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded.
For each of the take overs at the revered club 77 in Sydney, I aim to do something unique and inspiring for each show. For the November instalment I teamed up with one of the most inspiring and hard working live performers in Australia; 5RT.
Inspired by the long-form live performances in Europe from the likes of Surgeon, Megan Leber, Speedy J and DC11, we wanted to push the limits of our performance. We integrated our Octatracks for stability and our modular systems for instability and mixed it all together on the mighty DB4 Mixer; creating 2 hours of cohesive noise and rhythms from both of our back catalogues.

~ @lucasedmonds13 who’ll warmly open our techno ceremony and welcome us to the dance floor with ambient, dub and raw grooves. you’ll most likely catch them dancing after aswell.
~ @gnostic._ , delivering us a live ableton set full of his own punchy techno to lock you in and mean loops that’ll have you pulling mean faces.
~ @5rtlive who is blessing us with a full-hardware live techno set which he’s been sculpting and refining over the last couple months. i’ve been sitting here tryna figure out how to describe this set to you but i think i’ll let it speak for itself. the tension in your body will be worked and a meditative state you might find yourself in. this is proper hypnotic techno, curated live right in front of your face. this must be pretty fkn close to magic or alchemy. a rare live experience you do not wanna miss.
3 passionate local talents who care deeply about this scene, who put in a lot of effort into their art and music behind the scenes and who very well deserve to have it heard. we’re honoured to have them lead us on a techno mission on the 28th.
