Opera Motifs in Painting: Works by Chen Guan-Liang
本展聚焦於陳冠良如何從傳統佈景彩繪元素中提煉視覺語彙，轉化為獨立的手繪作品。作品並非對舞台佈景的直接呈現，而是透過人物神態、色彩層次與神獸圖樣的重新組構，讓原屬於戲臺與民間文化中的意象，進一步進入平面繪畫的表現之中。
在陳冠良的作品裡，畫面不只是形象的描繪，更是一種造境的過程。戲曲人物的神采、瑞獸祥禽的象徵，以及傳統彩繪的節奏與筆意，共同構成作品獨特的視覺語言。透過手繪獨有的線條溫度與設色層次，作品展現出傳統藝術語彙在當代觀看中的延續與轉化。
This exhibition focuses on how Chen Guan-Liang distills visual language from elements of traditional scenic painting and transforms them into independent hand-painted works. Rather than directly presenting stage scenery itself, the works recompose expressive figures, layered colors, and mythical beast motifs, allowing imagery originally rooted in theatrical stage culture and folk traditions to enter the language of two-dimensional painting.
In Chen Guan-Liang’s works, the image is not merely a depiction of form, but also a process of constructing atmosphere and pictorial space. The spirit of opera figures, the symbolism of auspicious animals and birds, and the rhythm and brushwork of traditional painting together form a distinctive visual language. Through the warmth of hand-drawn lines and the richness of layered color, the works reveal how traditional artistic vocabulary can be carried forward and reinterpreted in a contemporary context.
