500 Global is excited to announce the continued expansion of our presence across Africa, as we were selected to support the Digital Morocco 2030 strategy.
Launched by the Ministรจre de la Transition Numรฉrique et de la Rรฉforme de l'Administration and deployed by TAMWILCOM, the Startup Venture Building initiative is a flagship program under the Digital Morocco 2030 strategy.
โOur work across emerging markets has shown that ecosystems accelerate fastest when public-sector leadership and private-sector expertise move in lockstep,โ said Demola Adegbite, Partner at 500 Global. โBy supporting the Digital Morocco 2030 strategy, we look forward to connecting Moroccan founders to our global growth networks across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, where we believe the country is uniquely positioned to serve as a bridge for global expansion.โ

We are honored to welcome H.E. Minister Abdulsalam Haykal, Minister of Communications and Information Technology of the Syrian Arab Republic, and his delegation to our 500 Global HQ in Silicon Valley, along with the U.S. Department of State and International Chamber of Commerce.
The Syrian government is demonstrating a strong commitment to innovation as a key contributor to national transformationโ from digital infrastructure initiatives such as SilkLink, Barq Net, and Ugarit 2, to enabling regulatory frameworks like the National Entrepreneurship Strategy.
Itโs powerful to see this momentum supercharged by founders themselves through @startupssyria and @sync_sv , where thousands of entrepreneurs are connecting, building, and reimagining whatโs possible. The global success of Syrian founders such as Ronaldo Mouchawar โ who built Souq.com into the GCCโs first unicorn before its acquisition by Amazon โ demonstrates the scale of ambition and capability that already exists within the Syrian diaspora.
500 Global believes localized ecosystem development is essential to durable economic transformation. Building a startup nation is not only about capital or technology โ it requires coordinated investment in digital infrastructure, regulatory clarity, capacity building, investor networks, and trusted publicโprivate collaboration. When these elements are aligned within local context and national priorities, they create the conditions for long-term competitiveness and inclusive growth.
โSyriaโs ambition and talent, combined with growing international engagement, creates a meaningful opportunity to position innovation and technology as engines of economic renewal. We look forward to supporting founders and policymakers as they build the infrastructure and investment pathways to unlock growth.โ - Courtney Powell, COO & Managing Partner, 500 Global #TechforSyria #DigitalTransformation #SyrianTech #innovation #economicresilience
What do Canva, Talkdesk, Credit Karma, and Grab founders have in common? They're great at saying NO. ๐ซ
Christine Tsai, CEO of 500 Global, emphasizes the importance of founders being ruthless with their time, laser-focused on building great products, understanding customers, and avoiding distractions.
As a founder & CEO, saying no can be key to staying focused on what truly matters.
We're excited to back the future of global tax compliance. ๐
DDD Invoices has raised โฌ1.31M in seed funding to build the infrastructure layer that keeps invoices tax-compliant by default, across every market, every format, and every tax portal.
As governments across the EU and beyond move to real-time invoice reporting, the compliance burden on SaaS and ERP platforms is growing fast. DDD Invoices solves this with a single API that connects business software directly to tax portals and Peppol networks, transforming, validating, and routing invoices automatically, so companies stay compliant without rebuilding their systems country by country.
Backed by Fil Rouge Capital, 500 Global, and a team of experienced operators from the ERP and e-invoicing world, we're proud to support DDD Invoices as they build the compliance backbone for global software.

In collaboration with @openai , we hosted 35 AI-native and AI-enabled startups at 500 Global's Social House in Kuala Lumpur. The group included a mix of founders, builders and residents of 500 Global's AI residency โ all exploring how frontier models can unlock new products, workflows, and entirely new categories of companies.
Led by OpenAI's APAC Head of Startups Thomas Jeng, the session featured a deep dive into OpenAIโs latest models, a look at the companyโs roadmap, and practical discussions around how startups in APAC can best collaborate and build alongside the platform.
As AI capabilities continue to advance, one of the biggest opportunities ahead is helping more founders across the region access the tools, infrastructure, and networks needed to scale globally.

Release Before Ready is a hackathon I've been running for years, and the rule has always been the same: no competition, no winners, no prizes. Just 12 hours and the love of building.
This one had 100+ people in the room. Someone built a virtual vet โ upload a video of your dog and AI helps flag what might be wrong. Someone else automated financial contract execution. A few were deep on agentic AI for content creation. And plenty more in between.
The pitch is honest: best case, you build something awesome. Worst case, you learn a lot. Either way, you leave with friends.
Day 13 of SVT done. More tomorrow ๐

The AI race isnโt just about models. Itโs about who can run them โ reliably, at scale, at production speed.
Thatโs why we co-led Deepinfraโs $107M Series B. 4T+ tokens weekly. 150+ open-source models. Infrastructure built for the agentic era.
Congrats to Nikola Borisov and the team. ๐
โAfrica has to have skin in the game when it comes to financing African infrastructure.โ
This call to action from Alain Ebobissรฉ, CEO of @africa50infra , set the tone for a high-level dialogue hosted in partnership with the pan-African infrastructure investor and asset manager at Devex Impact House: The Capital Summit. The conversation centered on a fundamental shift in scaling sustainable energy in Africa: moving from a development necessity to a scalable, institutional-grade asset class.
The session unpacked the new "capital architecture" required to close the $25 billion annual financing gap โ from mobilizing long-term local capital and shifting toward "return uplift" models to using asset recycling to unlock private sector participation.
The consensus was clear: scaling impact is no longer about one-off pilots, but about bankable portfolios, commercial discipline, and institutional speed.
Watch the key takeaways from Ebobissรฉ, Nadia Karkar of @500global , Ashish Khanna of the @internationalsolaralliance , Sรฉrgio Pimenta of the Africa50 Infrastructure Acceleration Fund, and Aminu Umar-Sadiq of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority; and moderated by Raj Kumar of Devex.
