It’s official. We did it!
After a long journey, we’re incredibly excited to finally share that Embers is complete. 🔥
We spent many months shaping, refining, and polishing this film to make it the best version it could be, and seeing it finally come together has been such a special moment for all of us. What started as an idea among friends slowly grew into something real, and we’re so proud of what we created.
We’re now officially beginning our film festival submissions, and we couldn’t have reached this point without the support, generosity, and talent of so many wonderful people and artists along the way.
To everyone who helped us, encouraged us, believed in the project, or simply cheered us on... Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Toronto’s film community continues to inspire us every day, and Embers is a reflection of what love for storytelling and collaboration can create from scratch.

Rafael Luiz | Producer 🎬
Rafael Garcia is a Brazilian-born writer and producer based in Canada. Originally trained in law, Rafael honed his storytelling by intensive programs, advocating and defending his client’s interests before discovering his true passion for filmmaking after immigrating to Canada.
He currently works as a Production Manager at the Canadian Film Centre (CFC), where he has helped develop and produce over 100 short films. Outside of his work at the CFC, Rafael continues to write and produce original content, creating bold narratives and imaginative worlds that span fantasy, sci-fi, drama, and horror.

Based in Toronto, Philip is a dynamic stunt professional known for his high-energy performances at Medieval Times. With years of experience in fight choreography, stunt coordination, and live-action storytelling, he brings precision, power, and passion to every show.
From mastering historical stage combat to mentoring actors on stunt safety, Philip blends art and athleticism like few can. Whether it’s clashing swords or thrilling audiences with complex stunts, he’s all about making every moment epic.

About the Embers short film
Embers is a passion project born from the creative mind of the Producer/Director @jared_valkki . Fueled by his deep love for high fantasy and storytelling, Jared nurtured this idea for years—waiting for the right collaborators to bring it to life.
That moment came when he spoke about it with @4yourtale , a friend and fellow fantasy enthusiast with a strong background in filmmaking. Instantly aligned in vision and passion, the two spent nearly two years developing the script and shaping the project into a cinematic adventure worth fighting for.
As they began assembling the team, they crossed paths with @blueozar . Her vibrant energy, professionalism, and strong industry connections made her an invaluable addition. More importantly, she shared their deep-rooted excitement for the story. It wasn’t long before she became Associate Producer, helping elevate the project to the next level.
Together, Jared, Rafael, and Blue form the heart of The Embers—a bold, Canadian-made fantasy short film with cinematic scope, a compelling narrative, and thrilling battle sequences. Against all odds, they’re assembling a stellar team and making magic happen on an indie budget.
