If you’re on the fence to hire me as a coach or want to learn more about the type of work I do with clients, especially the work that goes beyond macros and reps, please listen to this testimony from long time client Gemma who lives in New Zealand. Gemma is a unique individual who happens to be one of the most inspired and hard working women I’ve ever met. She asked questions, she participated, she did her part, she vented, she communicated through good and hard times, she was always curious, and her mindset earned her the autonomy and peace she’s always sought. My coaching goes beyond just what you eat and what your training should look like. My goal is to find your limiting factors and make them less limiting. My aim is to make you confident in the gym, non reactive to scale fluctuations, to help you improve your body image, and to help you build habits that last you a last time. No more guessing or hoping you’re on the right path. Every woman deserves to look and feel her best, and the passion that I pour into my clients will have you believing you’re more than capable than you ever thought possible. Go to the links in my bio and book a free call with me to see how I can help you achieve your goals and see if we’re a good fit! #4weeks2thebeach

Thanks to @brandondacruz_ and @mcdonaldlyle for the stats on Olympic athletes and the point of my sharing this is to mention how slow the tide changes. It’s amazing that more women are embracing strength training than ever before and more women are embracing muscle growth, but it’s not enough. There are still too many women chasing skinny and too many women still living under the falsehood that muscle makes them bulky. Hopefully in the next 100 years it changes more, but sadly I won’t be here to see it. I just hope that the messaging that I and so many other good professionals put out can help get more women into the gym to build muscle without hesitation. Lift weights ladies. Your bones and muscles and mirror and grandkids will thank you 🙏 #4weeks2thebeach

You can fast or stop eating carbs or stop eating meat or any other diet you’ve heard of. They all work because they all reduce the amount of calories you eat compared to how many you ate before. But those diets are hard because they aren’t practical. Diets shouldn’t nor need to be sustainable because diets are a short term way of eating. Once you understand that, it just comes down to picking the one you hate the least and sticking to it long enough to peel fat off some. I would rather have more balance and flexibility and that’s why i believe tracking food while requiring more thought and slightly more work is a better option. #4weeks2thebeach

Peptides are all the rage. And they’re here to stay. I’m cool with that. What I’m NOT cool with is folks who jump into peptides without establishing foundational habits with their eating and movement. Injecting several compounds that we have very little research on and not spending time to improve your baseline eating and training behaviors is like painting a house that’s old and rotting. Do whatever you want. I’m no saint and I’ve done all sorts of experiments on myself, but my baseline is better than most and that’s what i anchor my health and body composition to. Will you start taking peptides and never stop? That’s what you really need to consider. Happy pricking! #4weeks2thebeach

All that bullsh*t is for the birds lol 😂. Nah jk. Will the things listed above improve your body composition? Hell no. But you watch enough wellness influencer content and they’ll have you believing that their silly morning routines and life hacks are what you’ve been missing. But don’t forget to use their discount code 🤮🤢🤡. Steer clear folks. The basics work. Respect the basics. Get good at the basics. And if you want a comprehensive list of what the basics are just shoot me a dm and stop wasting your Money. #4weeks2thebeach

I’ll start by saying I’m all for glp-1 usage especially when it’s for someone who Really Needs them. But with any weight loss, it isn’t exclusively fat that gets lost and some weight comes back on when ending the behaviors that contributed to the loss. Those behaviors are some iteration of eating less as compared to before or moving more as compared to before. So it stands to reason that once you eat more or move less then some weight is regained but we hope that with the loss of fat, the body becomes more metabolically capable and the habits you’ve hopefully built along the way if you’ve built any hopefully will stick long term to help you maintain some of that loss. The habits are the anchors that should be rather permanent: it’s the drugs or the diet that are temporary. But some will stay on a glp forever just like they would HRT. #4weeks2thebeach

Everyone has abdominal muscles. You can visibly see them on some and that’s very rare because that means a persons body fat is low enough for them to be seen. visible abs are a very difficult thing to achieve because that means a person is very diligent with their nutrition and exercise and body fat does not accumulate. The leaner you are, the harder it is to maintain that leanness and the more sacrifice a person has to exhibit. After 27 years of making refinements to my eating habits and my training consistency, i can usually see my abs for a majority of the day until the evening time. That doesn’t make me superior or better than anyone else. It just means that I’ve chosen to live like this and i have to continue to make the choices that contribute to that leanness or else that leanness dissipates quickly. If you want to have more flexibility and less structure, you’re going to have to accept that perpetual visible abs are probably not in your future or at least not something you’ll be able to sustain and that is completely ok! #4weeks2thebeach

Fat loss comes from creating and staying in a calorie deficit. You can do that by eating fewer calories or burning more calories. A strategic combination of both is ideal. Many folks work sedentary jobs and a walking pad especially for those working from home can substantially increase daily non exercise activity. Many folks claim to have a sweet tooth and like sweets at night after dinner. The ninja creami allows for this but with higher protein and lower fat and lower carb recipes that are beyond easy and fast to whip up and keep in the freezer. Grab both of these things and thank me later. #4weeks2thebeach

Healthy is a hard term because it’s so broad and doesn’t really have a standard definition. It’s very individualized. For someone, healthy can mean losing 50 pounds. For another person, health can mean gaining 10 pounds. So throwing the word health around is just as frivolous as throwing the word love around. Fat loss at the expense of long term mental and metabolic and bone health is where i believe things get dicey and while I’m in full support of glp 1 usage, too many folks use the drugs haphazardly without consideration of things like digestive health, bone health and muscle health. Please lift weights. Please eat as much nutrient dense food as you can. And please don’t chase smaller for the sake of smaller. #4weeks2thebeach

Hyrox training is not too dissimilar from group exercise classes like CrossFit, Orange theory, f 45 in that it is multi modal having you do lifting movements and cardiovascular work all within the same session, intertwined. These types of workouts absolutely kick your ass, are challenging, exhilarating, and can be fun especially in that group setting. But ive had plenty of folks do that type of training and come to me still upset that “they don’t look the part”. Two things: you have to be lifting heavy enough to grow muscle (1 part of improved body comp), and you have low enough body fat to see that muscle (nutrition + steps + cardio). Workouts like these can certainly burn a good amount of calories, but they can also make you hungry and if you don’t control your eating, you may very well not set yourself up to lower body fat. So just like any other workout, don’t expect the workout to be the catalyst for fat loss without also examining your nutrition and dialing that in. #4weeks2thebeach
