We will visit some of our smallest service dogs in training, discuss the application process in it's entirety, and have a Q&A to address all of your questions! 💜🐾This event will last 2 hours, which includes a 1 hour tour and a 1 hour information session. Meet Maddie, the one pup from Frankie's Finale Litter! 💖🐾 Maddie is taking no time making friends, real or stuffed, while showing off her potential in the Puppy Enrichment Program.
The Puppy Enrichment Program (PEP) is the crucial foundational training program for the puppies at 4 Paws for Ability, and begins when the puppies are just three days old. Puppies are introduced to a wide range of experiences, including sounds, scents, objects, sights, and more. They are also taught foundational obedience skills, including sit, down, name call, shake, and more.
The program’s goal is to create confident eight-week-old puppies with a solid foundation of obedience skills to prepare them for their roles as service dogs.

Socializing our service dogs in training to the world is no small task, and we are so grateful to our volunteer trainers who make it possible!
The Polar Paws, our student organization at Ohio Northern University, took their foster pups to COSI for a full day of socialization and imagination. 🧡🐾 From seeing electric displays, encountering various wildlife, and working out in public, these service dogs in training proved that they are learning more each day!
We heard that being this cute should be illegal... so we invited the local paw enforcement to meet our pups! 🚔🐾 Thank you to the Dayton Police Department for not throwing the book at the Litter-ary litter. We can't wait to see you again soon!

What may seem like a simple hug can be so much for our service dog teams.
While Aiden was waiting at a track meet and cool temperatures set in, Rotelli’s presence cleared any chance of a meltdown.
Aiden’s mom, Paula shares, “We were at a very cold track meet, and he was struggling with wait times and being cold. Aiden has a thing for Rotelli’s ears. When he stands somewhere trying to work through the anxiety, his hand slips down to Rotelli’s ears, and he starts to play with them.”
This night was no different for the duo as Rotelli’s warm cuddles and cold ears proved to be magical in calming Aiden down.
