In October 2019 we were invited to complete our installation work with the art foundation @articasvalbard and Aktiv i Friluft to work within the “Project Isfjorden”. During this project, AiF has been running excursions to clean up Svalbard’s beaches. We joined and produced this installation as a public artwork in collaboration with the local community. A mobilé, consisting parts of the collected trash (buoys and ropes) is installed inside the installation. The installation can be used as a shelter during the cold svalbardian winters. We participated next to the artists @kimnekarda and Floortje Zonneveld @arcticfogbow Thanks to @eli_skatvedt_art and @didrikp for the great support. We are glad to be part of the exhibition “Neighborhood 2025” at @kunsthausdresden We made an exclusive installation of a movable painting as a preparation for a setdesign for a project called Hochhausmelodien, which will be a concert on a high rise building here in Dresden. The work we show at the Kunsthaus stands for itself and is a collaboration with our friend the artist @jan_brokof . The exhibition ran until August 25th 2019. „Nachbarschaftsaufstellung mit Vorhang“, 44flavours & Jan Brokof (Neighborhood Constellation with Curtains) Kunsthaus Dresden commissions Jan Brokof and the artist duo 44flavours to design a stage set inspired by high-rise buildings on Florian-Geyer-Straße. The installation for the exhibition Nachbarschaften 2025 scales the balcony dimensions to 1:1, with large, colorful wall surfaces reflecting the building's interior spaces. Painted canvas curtains are installed on four tracks across the entire wall, allowing for dynamic layering and rearrangement. As the curtains open and close, they create shifting patterns and transform the mural, revealing and concealing imagined interior spaces. The installation (15m x 4m) makes the mural and integrated shelving both visible and hidden, demonstrating how painted canvas curtains dynamically interact with one another. May 2026 Mon. - Fri: 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sat.: 12 - 5 p.m. “Roam Around” unfolds as a practice of attentive wandering, moving through the world without fixed intention, guided by observation, rhythm, and encounter. The exhibition takes its point of departure from the act of strolling, echoing literary references such as Der Spaziergang (Robert Walser 1917) as well as the concept of the dérive, as developed by the Situationist International, understood here as a way of perceiving and navigating space through atmosphere, intuition, and chance. Working as a duo, 44flavours gather visual and sensory fragments from everyday life, while walking, reading, or listening. These observations become the starting point for processes of form-finding: shapes are developed, repeated, and recombined into compositions that oscillate between structure and improvisation. Influenced by the energy of jazz, their visual language unfolds rhythmically, guided as much by intuition as by compositional decisions. Formally, the exhibition is anchored by the recurring motif of the arch, an architectural element that frames, connects, and directs movement. As both passage and threshold, it operates as a visual structure through which forms are organized and perceived. Across painting, object, sculpture, and ceramics, this motif binds the works together while opening shifting perspectives. 44flavours’ practice expands painting into space, moving fluidly between surface and object. Bringing together painting, sculpture, objects, photography, and drawing, the exhibition explored different perspectives on the world — through masks, figures, animals, landscapes, symbols, and abstract forms. Emerging from a long-standing friendship and artistic exchange, the works entered into dialogue, forming a shared constellation of images and ideas. The exhibition took place about a year ago — sharing this TV feature now feels like a nice moment to look back. With collaborations by Marcia de Aquino, Danielle Filgueiras, Marcos Ferreira, Pablo Monteiro, Cahhi Silva & Samantha Moreira — Um breve registro televisivo de Entre Mundos / Zwischenwelten, exposição de Dinho Araujo e 44flavours (Julio Rölle & Sebastian Bagge) na Lima Galeria, em São Luís. Reunindo pintura, escultura, objetos, fotografia e desenho, a exposição apresentou diferentes perspectivas sobre o mundo — por meio de máscaras, figuras, animais, paisagens, símbolos e formas abstratas. As we continue the Concéntrico Book Tour, and coinciding with the upcoming presentation of Concéntrico: Urban Innovation Laboratory at @proqm in #Berlin, we highlight Paisaje topográfico pintado by 44flavours. Installed in Logroño, the project explores the city through the perspective of a painter, a skater, or a graffiti writer, revealing alternative ways of seeing and inhabiting urban space.
