Thankful to have rented my Helmut Lang Painter Denim to the Barbican museum. Part of the London cultural centre's current exhibition entitled “Dirty Looks - Desire and Decay in Fashion”, the Barbican explores the evolution of the dirty side of contemporary fashion and how some designers went against established beauty conventions through distressed, deliberately destroyed and faded designs. Curated by Karen Van Godtsenhoven with assistant curator Jon Astbury, the exhibition showcases 120 objects created by more than 60 different designers, all highlighting this desire to question our beauty ideals and standards through “dirt and decay” on pieces of clothing. As part of the “Stains as Ornament” section of the exhibition, artwork number 7, I am proud to have one of my S/S1998 Helmut Lang Painter 5 Pocket Denim Jeans featured in this amazing curation. Among the Austrian designer’s most iconic pieces, this pair of jeans is part of his Spring/Summer 1998 collection, featuring several layers of screen-printed ink paint splashes. Poorly received by the press back then, this Painter Denim later became an emblem of archive fashion culture. It’s an honor to have one of my pieces curated and showcased for the first time in a museum, especially right here, next to incredible garments made by my two other fashion heroes, Raf Simons and Martin Margiela. This renting also marks a full-circle moment between my passion as a collector who celebrates the beauty of vintage fashion through my work since years and a large exhibition that emphasizes it. An immense thank you to Jon and Joe for the opportunity and for trusting me, I am beyond grateful. Photo credits: @thomasadank - This post also serves as a great reminder that my large archive of 200+ vintage Helmut Lang pieces is available for rental upon request via DM or email ! Thank you for everything.

S/S26 SHOWROOM WRAP A crazy week. I am so glad of this first physical experience of being able to finally hold a showroom for Mysterium Museum in my heartland, here in Paris, during fashion week. It was such a pleasure to meet and connect in real life with people who share the same passion and interest as me for this archive fashion culture. Exhibiting my collection and allowing everyone to step into a small part of what MM’s world is felt truly special and important for me. A huge thank you to everyone who purchased pieces from my curation, to those who came to talk, exchange and support me. Special thanks to Paul, Lucas, and all the others who helped me along the way during this event. I am forever grateful for everything. Already working on what’s coming next… To the next step, Merci

Helmut Lang - Spring 2001 - Lace-Up Bondage Lambskin Leather Jacket. A collection featuring many garments, including this jacket, inspired by Azzedine Alaïa Spring/Summer 1986 collection. Made of a prenium lamb leather, this piece presents a complex pattern of a reworked and reinterpreted café racer adjusted silhouette, mixed with signature elastic laced corset panels along the sides of the chest, sleeve cuffs and front part of the item. Never for sale... a great addition to the archives !
