430 STEPS

The Drama of Being You is finally out today. I wanted to share the artwork and the CD and vinyl adaptations because working on the concept, the graphics, and the illustration was one of the most meaningful parts of this entire process. I’ve always seen painting with a sense of drama. I grew up surrounded by easels, canvases, and oil paint. Both of my parents are visual artists, and in some way that shaped how I understand and approach visuals today. Going from something ethereal — a loose idea, a melody, songs that barely exist — to recording the full album, choosing the title, building the concept, and finally translating all of that into a visual identity was truly magical. This is probably my best graphic work on a record. Quería compartirles el arte y las adaptaciones para CD y vinilo porque trabajar en el concepto, las gráficas y la ilustración fue una de las partes más especiales de todo el proceso. Siempre vi la pintura con mucho drama. Crecí entre caballetes, lienzos y manchas de óleo. Mis papás, ambos artistas plásticos, influyeron profundamente en cómo entiendo y construyo lo visual hoy. Pasar de algo etéreo —una idea suelta, una melodía, canciones que apenas existen— a grabar el álbum completo, definir el nombre, conceptualizarlo y convertirlo en una identidad visual fue algo mágico. Probablemente mi mejor trabajo gráfico en un disco. First time in Puerto Rico as a band and it meant everything to us. Huge thanks to @secretbound15.prhc and @perzeveraband for bringing us out we had an unreal time and made memories we won’t forget. This trip was more than just shows for us. It was about building real connections in the hardcore scene and exploring something new. We feel lucky to have had this opportunity Also, it was great seeing @carlosperezfilms to pull up to the show the mind behind videos like Citizen of Nothing and Invisible Enemy. Seriously talented director. If you’re looking for someone make professional videos for your band ,he’s the guy.
