A lot of Republican women hitch their wagons to issues like human trafficking and domestic violence because those issues are legible within a traditional framework. They allow politicians to position themselves as protectors of women without challenging the underlying power structures that feminism actually interrogates like economic inequality, reproductive control, workplace discrimination, or gender-based political exclusion. Itās āfeminist-adjacent,ā so they get to feel like they are in the club of standing for womenās rights, but when itās time to show up against any other kind of gender-based oppression, they are nowhere to be found.

An entire population is being encircled and forced out, with nowhere for them to go. It is past time for the U.S government and international community to unite not just in condemnation, but in action to bring the appalling suffering and loss in Gaza to an end. To hear that the U.S. is sending troops in support of Israelās siege makes me sick. This is not leadership, itās failure. This may be what our country stands for, but it is not what I stand for, it is devoid of humanity, and it is not the way forward for peace and liberation. Free Palestine. šš¤š¤ā¤ļø
