One of my favorite moments of the music video— transforming feelings and pain into imagery, and a moment of connection and hope with my beloved friend Briana (the Moon). I am so grateful for the love this video has received. It’s DIY, it’s weird, it’s raw, and it’s full of metaphor and symbolism that even I may not fully understand, and the song and video are both some of my proudest creations. This evening featured aerial silks, instrumental guitar, drumming, dance, hair hanging, improvised droney soundscapes, mimes, and lyricless storytelling. A couple of weeks ago I participated in the first ever Granite Stage talent show (hosted by @rhythmandrootsstudiollc ) — and WON!!! This was my first time incorporating singing and movement in a performance, I was so beyond nervous, but I am really proud of how embodied and powerful I felt when I let myself lean into the story of this song.
This song, from my EP, was inspired by words said to me by someone who said they loved me and knew me better than anyone else, including myself. For years I held the belief that I was secretly a terrible person, that I didn’t even know it, and that someday everyone would find out. With this song I alchemized this story into empowerment. Enjoy. 💚

The making of “Grow In The Silence,” the title track of my EP, recorded live on winter solstice weekend, one year ago. We had the choir in the guest room, the amps in closets, drums and lead vocals somehow in the same room, and an incredible sound engineer pulling it all together. Looking back over the year that has passed since recording this EP, I see how this creative process was a launching point for leaving behind a dark time and emerging into the light.
