Collection 2 was an experimental approach to the world of runway fashion with a shape based approach, the collection consists of 5 looks, from dark to light. An Ode to Damian Kristopher Leal, to my step brother who believed in me every step of the way. The collection was named “3NRG” due to the importance of energy that drives us creatives to push boundaries.
None of this would be possible without my peers and my professor @7_8_15_19_20 and @ccs_fashiondesign
2025 SENIOR COLLECTION
Five years in the making.
This collection was about digging deeper. Connecting with something I have a strong nostalgic bond to.
My childhood.
I was an only child from the beginning of my life , and I spent a lot of time alone, riding bikes, exploring nature. College and school life pulled me away from that, but I often found myself missing that Florida weather. The humidity, the glow of the sun. I used to hang with my friends in open fields, near the polo grounds, or on this road called Flying Cow Road. We’d bike to this hidden nature trail with a tower. It was our secret meet up spot. It’s the kind of place you don’t just stumble on. You have to explore to find it. That idea of discovery, of going beyond what you know, has always driven me.
This year , I was working nonstop. Five classes, including Collections. It was a lot. I used to think I could finish a whole outfit in a day. Realistically, it’s more like pants one day, a jacket the next. But it’s about pushing my boundaries.
For me, being an artist is a rebellious act. Trying new things. Combining disciplines. Experimenting with materials. I started with nothing. No real access to fabrics. No connections. So I used what I could find. That resourcefulness, that hustle, shaped me.
That’s what I love most about Detroit. How collaborative and open the creative scene is. Everyone’s down to work. Down to share. The community might be small, but it’s powerful. Spend enough time doing what you love, and you’ll find your people.
So thank you. To CCS. To the Fashion Design department. To Tom. To Aki. To Rey. To the ninth floor. To the senior section. To Aida . And to everyone in the late-night studio sessions. I’d show up at four in the morning and see folks still going hard. And even when I was tired or unmotivated, that energy kept me going.
Everyone around me inspires me.
You’re the reason I do what I do.
This is more than just clothes. This is my child. My archive. My journey.
And I’m just getting started.
love.
