Sky Riders is named by a local poet and inspired by the people who love Bush Hill Park. The mural blends a birds-eye view of the park with magical realism making the containers both stand out and blend in. 📍 The mural is located at Bush Hill Park EN1 1JX. If you live in the area and enjoy riding bikes you can join there " all ability cycling " in the park for free every monday between 10am - 3pm

Loved being outdoors in the glorious sunshine! Our team had such a fun time chatting with locals about what they love about cycling — with a few sci-fi references thrown in too, from ET to Stranger Things! 😃

In May 2025, 34Bus partnered with Enfield Council’s "Journey & Places" to create a dreamy mural for the All Ability Cycling Club. The team ran a series of workshops with pupils from Bush Hill Park Primary School, the Friends of Bush Hill Park, and local residents to develop the concept for this artwork to transform two neglected shipping containers into a vibrant hub for an inclusive cycling group. The team even tested their skills on a three-wheeled bike - its harder than it looks! The 34Bus collective on this project included @adolanart_ , @bloomingreat , @alistairleys_murals , and @anolue -art. Special thanks to artists @kiriko and @ellcamrose -art for hopping on board to paint with us. 🌟 It's a nice life really... 1️⃣ The Landlord's Girlfriend - A tribute to going out and a pub that once stood tall before it burned down, shrouded in mystery and local lore. This piece reflects the gritty performances of poets and musicians, set against a backdrop of the old Odean Cinema and the changing times of the 70s/80s/90s/00's. 2️⃣ It’s Market Day - A quiet, reflective piece featuring the hands of a woman typing, capturing the solace and joy found in the bustling market scene of 50s/60s Deptford. It’s a celebration of the treasures, people, and memories that shaped the neighborhood. Together, these works frame Art Deco cinema doors, drawing on the rich cinematic history of New Cross. 🎬✨ The quote “It’s a nice life really” echoes through the piece, reflecting the positive, resilient spirit of the community. 📍 Visit the #thealbanyse8 and see the mural in person. A special thanks to everyone who shared their stories to make this project come alive! 🙌 #CommunityArt #Mural #LocalHistory #Deptford #NewCross #CommunityStories #Heritage #WeAreLewisham #TheAlbanySE8 #OralHistories #ArtDeco #CulturalLegacy #PublicArt

It’s been a long journey to find the perfect space to visually respond to the Oral Histories, but we finally landed on 5 boards on the side of the Albany Theatre! 🎨✨ As with all our murals, the participatory process and the space itself played a huge role in shaping the artwork. Cinema is a key theme in many of the interviews, so we took inspiration from the format of Quad Style Film Posters – a perfect fit for the boards. 🎬 While painting in the heart of Deptford Market, we truly immersed ourselves in the vibrant energy of Market Day. From chatting with shoppers to connecting with traders, the community’s feedback and curiosity kept us going – even when the wind and rain made things a little more challenging! 🌧️💪 This project has been all about community, history, and stories coming to life, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the experience. Big thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts, and to everyone who’s been part of this journey! 🙌 #34Bus #newcrosspeopleslibrary #thealbanyse8 #DeptfordMarket #CommunityArt #Mural #WeAreLewisham #LocalHistory #CommunityStories #Heritage

🌟 Oral Histories 🌟 This project marked a shift in our working process, beginning with collecting ideas and then finding a space for the mural to call it's home. ✨ We’re incredibly proud to have partnered with New Cross Learning and Meet Me at the Albany to record and celebrate the stories of New Cross and Deptford’s elder generations. 🗣️ These voices—sharing memories from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s—have inspired us deeply. From work to parties, love to loss, fashion to food, and the resilience and joy that runs through it all, these stories are a window into the heart of our community. A special thank you to Gill, Joan, Kelvin, Maureen, Jeanie, Ron, Rosalind, and Jim for sharing your narratives with us. Your stories are the soul of this work. 🙏 34 Collective for this project are @adolanart_ , @bloomingreat @alistairleys_murals @anolue -art Supported by: The Albany, New Cross Peoples Library, Meet me at the Albany Funded by: Lewisham Council #34Bus #NewCrossPeoplesLibrary #TheAlbanySE8 #CommunityArt #Mural #WeAreLewisham #LocalHistory #CommunityStories #Heritage

🛡️ Each shield motif in our mural represents a local story—from the valor of wartime heroes to the legacy of Slade Green F.C. and the local landmarks. A bird symbolizes the local wildlife, while depictions of historic industries like brickworks and railway tracks are featured, alongside a reference to the area's nickname "Cabbage Island" and the connection to the River Thames. The representation of orchard trees reflects Slade Green's agricultural roots. 🌳🏞️ Thanks, Slade Green Knights, for having us and for putting your trust in us. 🙏 #34Bus #SladeGreenKnights #CommunityArt #Mural #BexleyCollective #LocalHistory #ArtForChange #CommunityStories #SladeGreen #Heritage

🎨 The palette for our latest mural was inspired by a young footballer from the club. When asked what comes to mind when he thinks about his Saturday practice, the player described "getting up early as the sun comes up." 🌅⚽️ The vibrant colors capture the energy and optimism of those early morning practices, bringing a piece of the club's spirit to life. #34Bus #SladeGreenKnights #CommunityArt #Mural #BexleyCollective #FootballInspiration #YouthEngagement #ArtForChange #SunrisePractice #ClubSpirit

🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 34Bus joined this project in October 2023, a year into its development. The team was touched by how dedicated the community is about their club and Slade Green, and by the sheer number of young people and coaches coming together on Saturday mornings. By the time we were brought in, there were a million ideas passionately floating around, and the mural needed to bring them together and create a design that reflected the strength of the club that everyone could take pride in. 📍 The mural is located at Slade Green Recreation Ground, DA8 2LY. If you live in the area, please do consider supporting the Knights in whatever way you can. 😊 The 34Bus Collective on this project includes @adolanart_ , @bloomingreat , @alistairleys_murals , and @anolue -art. Produced by: Bexley Collective, a creative co-creation programme developed by Three Rivers, working with the Knights (@sladegreenknights ). Supported by: Bexley Council and Arts Council England. Special thanks to: Andre, Benn, Mel, Paul, Mike, and Oladunni from the Knights. All the coaches, players, parents, schools, libraries, Councillors, and community members who supported this project along the way. #34Bus #SladeGreenKnights #BexleyCollective #CommunityArt #Mural #SladeGreen #CommunitySupport #YouthEngagement #ArtForChange

"The final design centered around a fresh pair of ""Jordan 4's," Michael Jordan’s brand, which is popular among pupils and was initially drawn by a student who had centered their entire GCSE art project around Jordans. The mural features a bright background, coupled with a welcoming message integrated into the trainer. Across the laces, the welcome message is translated into several languages, symbolizing the diverse cultures at Orchardside, both teachers and pupils." #mural #orchardside #jordan4

During the production process the pupils learnt how to scale up using a projector. Was great to see how focused the pupils were, their attention to detail and there enthusiasm for the project.

Our second mural in collaboration with Orchardside School as a part of there " Let's create Orchardside " mural residency funded by ACE 2023-2024 created at the end of 2023. We collaborated with the year 10 and 11 art students to create a mural in the school reception area. We worked around themes the pupils were interested in, carried out drawing exercises, and played word games. Some of the themes were fashion, music, street art, and tattoos—these were also themes that students had chosen for their GSCE projects. 34 Collective for this project are @anolue -art @bloomingreat Supported by: @tigermonkeyuk Funded by: ACE 2023-2024 #orchardside #mural #jordan4
