Subverting Structure
Video outcome for my @fashion_textiles_ual_fad Subverting Function project exploring how supportive structures that are enforced on us at a young age can turn into baggage that holds you back as opposed to uplifting you. This video explores the journey from birth, being put in structures designed by your parents and their parents before them, the struggle of trying to escape them and in the end crawling back into the comfort of familiarity.
Thankyou to my lovely videographer @bl1ssfully_ignorant (Aurora Horton) for shooting this for me and assisting with the edit

Project u
This project was a big struggle for me- in the depths of burnout and frustration towards my neurodivergent brain it was hard to focus on myself as the subject of this project and i was fixated on the feeling of putting all of yourself into your work, and loosing yourself in the process, only to move onto the next project and leave it behind. I often work from my emotions so i found it hard to focus on anything but the negative feelings i had towards my art and process. As i worked on the project and considered more I decided to pivot to focus more on the beauty of being able to create something from yourself and weave your emotions into your designs. I decided to create this piece with hands protruding out of the stomach as a way to show creation bursting out of the artist. I handmade these flowers with help from @hadley.exe7@cowthembebop@darrienbennett to further represent growing ideas. The chestpiece is made from modroc, meant to imitate china, objects often painted with beautiful patterns only to be forgotten, chipped, left to gather dust in a cupboard, just like the designs made that art left behind in favour of new ideas. Throughout this entire project i explored hands through form, photography and research as a means of communication as i am quite a tactile person and felt that had to be a part of this project. Overall i feel i could of done more but i am mainly just happy this project is over loll
If you read all my yap I appreciate it hope u like the outcome:D
