The first is a spruce roots basket I weaved this winter with the roots I scavenged from the fire guards being made while working on the fire line around Burns Lake this summer. Dozers are just ripping everything and exposing the roots.
The second one is a spruce bark basket, that one made directly on the line, from a spruce that had to be fell for making these fireguards.
It was wild to see the amount of destruction needing to happend to protect the forest (timber really).
Mostly I just wanted to post some of the cool (horrifying) shots I took during the fire season.
