When we launched DuO back in 2018 our aim was to create a sophisticated and warm range of desking and workstations, products that are normally cold and sterile. We are humbled and proud to see that the countless hours of design, prototyping, risk taking and refining we undertook have paid off. We continue to see success with DuO and hope that it becomes a timeless product that customers will seek out for many years to come.
So to find out that we have been blatantly copied (even the same name!) really hurts. It is offensive, unethical and lazy.
We need to push for Australia’s IP laws to be strengthened and the cultural acceptance of copying called out.
Helping protect designers and creators from vampiric and blatant replicating is key to a healthy and thriving design industry.
