I’m super excited to share with you … our new #stopmotionanimation movie #thetravailsofajadi for 3 months (non-stop), been creating all these details and now it’s coming to life, I decided to film the entire process of creation, and every Tuesday, I would be posting tutorials on how every details were made. #2thpickart please listen with headphones on ❤️❤️ #share if you love what we do #diorama #miniature #art #actionfigure
I ran into my Ghanaian Brother’s lens @jhoe_sey Thank you Bro . yesterday… also, met with Oscar winning Philippian Animator - He showed up for the Nigerian pitch session - had great things to say about Ajadi. I got invited to the philippians “Buzz and pitch “ session … awesome and warm people !
The movie getting some attention, one would think - naso my head correct reach, but …
I wrote the story when I was going through what I thought was the lowest time of my life, I was seeing Shege! Not knowing Banza would soon follow.
I had a perspective also fueled by the scripture “ how Jesus Christ learned obedience through the things He suffered “ Heb. 5:8 . I felt : we are a product of our “sufferings” …these things prune us for the better - only if we have the right perspective.
Growing up, I had seen shege banza + + it gave me some recoils and self efficient mindset, snow balled into making art with toothpicks- painstakingly for months and just being indoors, this equipped me for all I do now.
Àjàdí is me, I made Ajadi because of the things I went through, and then, Ajadi gains recognition and accolades … in mathematicians, the law of transitivity states that if a=b and b=c then a=c (trust me, read that again, you won’t grasp the concept at one read ) I’m only trying to imply :
I made Ajadi because of what I was going through, Ajadi gains accolades because it was made, I gained accolades because of the things I went through- basically.
What ever you are going through would make you better ! Also na one thing we go go through wey we no go go through another one (this statement is neither positive nor negative- just perspective )
Stop motion. All hand crafted, altered frame by frame and photographed all along, sequenced back together to tell a story. All forms of Art at a go … tested by affinity for patience. Only the Bold can. #stopmotion #2thpickart #art

The Travails of Ajadi just got officially selected (in competition) at the world’s most prestigious animation film festival. — the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
This is the dream for anyone ! Studio or independent.
In 2024, The Ekspats became the first Nigerian animated project (TV Series ) in 64 years to be selected in competition.
And now in 2026—66 years later, history repeats itself.
The Travails of Ajadi becomes: – The second Nigerian animation ever selected in competition – The first Nigerian animated short film to achieve this
An incredible honour.
Last year, while still deep in production, I was selected alongside 4 other filmmakers to attend MIFA at Annecy thanks to French Embassy in Nigeria. @franceinnigeria I pitched Ajadi, hoping to secure support to complete the film.
It didn’t go the way I hoped… but the exposure changed everything.
I came back home and pushed through—by any means necessary, to finish the film.
And now… the same project returns.
Officially selected. In competition. Perspectives category.
Grateful. 🇳🇬
Out of 17 films in the world ! Selected for their unique perspectives, the one I wrote, produced and directed Dey there 😭😭
