With the Middle East now operating as a global capital for after-dark culture, this DJ duo is helping define its aesthetic from the booth outward.
Every major Middle Eastern night out has its tipping point. At this year’s GQ Men of the Year party, it hit the second Saint Levant slipped into the DJ booth – the crowd softened toward the dance floor, the room recalibrated – and that shift belonged to @2third .
The regional DJ duo have become the most reliable guarantee that a night will actually go somewhere. But before the global stages, couture runways, and 10,000-person crowds, Karl and Bahjat were just two teenagers in Beirut, sharing an iPod Nano and trading tracks like contraband.
Seven years later, that impulse carried them to some of the world’s most exclusive stages and into owning two of Beirut’s hottest clubs, anchors of a nightlife mythology that only grows with time.
2Third quickly evolved from club staples to essential names within the Middle East’s luxury ecosystem. Their signature sound caught the attention of fashion houses whose shows demand more than background noise.
