Hergün okullardan akran zorbalığı haberleri gelirken, okul öncesi dönemden itibaren empati, arkadaşlık becerileri, duygu yönetimi ve problem çözme becerilerini destekleyici eğitim uygulamalarının önemini tartıştık, bu amaçla geliştirilen programı inceleme fırsatı bulduk.

Bu akşam @dorukcocukakademisi 'ne yeni katılan öğretmenlerimize eğitici, yıllardır programı uygulayan öğretmenlerimize ise tazeleyici bir eğitim toplantısı düzenledik.
İkinci adım programı, orjinal adı ile Second Step, Casel tarafından hazırlanan bir sosyal duygusal öğrenme programıdır. Çocuklarda empati, problem çözme, duygularını yönetebilme, öz farkındalık gibi becerilerin gelişimini desteklerken, çocukların arkadaşlık becerilerini geliştirmeyi ve akran zorbalığını önlemeyi amaçlamaktadır. İkinci adım programının etkilerini inceleyen araştırmalar gösteriyorki, programa katılan çocukların özdüzenleme becerileri artarken, problem davranışlarında azalmalar gerçekleşiyor, akranlari ile daha açık ve sağlıklı iletişim kurabiliyorlar. Öğretmenler programın sınıf yönetimini de desteklediğini, çocukların İkinci Adım Etkinliklerine istekle katıldıklarını ifade ediyorlar. Mirror Tent from Children’s Factory:
This summer we’re learning about empathy. At this centers students will grab an emotion card, then look in the mirror and practice making the expression to help them recognize emotions in others. 💛
I also plan to have my students look in this mirror tent to watch how our mouths move when making letter sounds!
