From Barcelona to Estoril, the Porsche 911 2.0L cars delivered an intense season of battles fought to the tenth of a second and meticulous strategy. 👉 Oliver Bryant and Kyle Tilleu clinched another victory this season 🏆 after a near-perfect campaign, despite finishing second in Estoril in the final round. 🔥 The Portuguese victory went to Vincent KOLB/Max MORITZ, who controlled the race from start to finish. A final weekend that reflected the season as a whole: passionate, competitive and true to the spirit of Gentleman Drivers. See you next year 🏁

We are sad to post that our friend, Historika founder and boss, Kevin Morfett passed away at the end of last week. Kevin was known and respected by all in the paddock and rightly stood proudly by his team, whose cars have won 5 Championships in the 8 seasons of the 2 Litre Cup series. Kevin rarely missed a trick but was above all about enjoying racing. Chats about any subject, normally over dinner and a glass of good wine, were always positive. Even when he was annoyed by something, he had a wicked sense of humour and perspective on it all. Historika stands really as the definitive 2 Litre Cup team but, with Kevin aided most ably by his son and worthy successor Nick’s permanent enthusiasm, was so much more besides, running their ex-Gerard Larrousse Tour de France 911 ST alongside a 3.0 RSR’s, 904 and 910 amongst others. Their dominant win with the Historika 904 driven by Andrew Smith at the Goodwood Revival Meeting just 10 days ago was typical Kevin – executing a plan with determination and class. We have lots of good memories of Kevin but my abiding memory is straight after another pole position at Dijon for the ’64 911, driven by his beloved ‘works drivers’ Olly and Andrew, when others were stressing and complaining about this and that – “cold beer or rosé?”, he asked with a smile. A quiet presence in our paddock has gone, but will also be with us forever. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family, friends and team. RIP Kevin. “les jeux sont faits” * High drama in 2 Litre Cup Qualifying yesterday as Championship leaders Kyle & Olly were beaten to pole position by 4 cars (and 3 drivers). Both David Verzijlbergen & Patrick Kolb (showing off by setting mega times in two different cars) put in superb performances. However, it was longtime Gentleman class contender Jürgen who set the first ever outright pole for a Gentleman driver, after the average of the two drivers’ times were taken into account. A few terms you’ll hear around the paddock – and what they actually mean. 2 Litre Cup A one-make racing series for pre-1966 Porsche 911s, all running 2.0L engines. Same cars, same rules – real competition. 911 SWB Short wheelbase Porsche 911, built before 1966. Light, agile, and demanding to drive well. 2.0 Litre Naturally aspirated flat-six engine. No electronics, no modern aids. Just proper mechanical racing. GTL Gentleman drivers. Dedicated amateurs with skill, experience, and passion for classic racing. ELITE Drivers with professional or high-level historic racing background. Often competing for overall victory. Pit Stop Each car must make one stop during the race – no tyre changes or refuelling, just a regulated pause. Pit Stop Window A specific time slot when pit stops must be taken.
