My computer is acting up and I’ve been feeling the creative doldrums lately so I’ve decided to try out the Trailing Floral Challenge by @bearbellproductions I have to say, drawing with a real pencil on real paper feels amazing already. I have two finger tapped the paper a handful of times to undo lines and it occurs to me how much that perfectionism has stifled my creative spirit lately. It’s so freeing to just go “oh well, it’s a sketch, it doesn’t have to be perfect” and move on. I already feel the dust shaking off and the joy returning!
Drawing on the back of old printed pages really adds to the freedom because they’ll all go in the recycling bin at some point. The less precious I feel about my art, the more I enjoy the process of creating.
I’m excited to share a whole fresh crop of wedding invitation designs that have launched with @greenvelope this spring!
I enjoyed the design briefs and decided to create with those specifically in mind this time. I’m proud of this group and hope that there’s a little something for every kind of bride here. Plus one more that I didn’t get submitted in time for the contest but I will share that soon.

Shout out to my Mintie friends and fellow artists! After many, many years working with @minted it was time for me to refresh my “storefront” on their site. I wanted to shift it to be more flexible in terms of me not needing to move things around as the seasons change and as what’s available on their site changes. So this is the new look. what do you think? I added personalized photos to the carousel with some text to tell more of my story and what I love about working with Minted.

You know what’s coming … yeah, fall and pumpkin spice and crunchy leaves and fuzzy sweaters. More than that, what I look forward to the most is Halloween!! 🦇 I’ve been in the mood and working on spooky illustrations. My most favorite so far is this abstracted bat design using various lines and hatching techniques to give it a bit of a lace effect. Maybe too artsy for Halloween but maybe not?
