This project started during a time where outside of organizing ideas and āpackagingā them up in a deck on Canva, I knew next to nothing about the tv/film space. ā£ā£

@257pres and my original concept was centered on doc series about hip hop producers from each region of the country. For the South, we naturally thought of
@drummaboyfresh so we hit up
@andretheoryof4 and after one call Drumma quickly let it be known thereās an entire story that hasnāt yet ACTUALLY been told about the founding fathers of Trap Music.

The first Birth of Trap deck was created 2/17/2021 (slide 2). Fast forward to 2022 Dre brought in
@ikeithian and
@brodrickhaygood to produce this piece and build a super team-
@chrisscholar and
@justbevin to tell this story as genuinely as possible.

To think itās been 5 years in the making and weāre still on this journey together with a selection at the 50th Anniversary of the ATL Film Festival is quite literally Gods doing. So many incredible people involved and still so much left to do to fully bring this masterpiece to life. ā£ā£

But this recognition alone is a win for all of us and most importantly for Hip Hop, Black Music and a sub genre that has impacted communities, shifted culture globally and through both light & darkness remained unapologetically true to itself from inception to present day.
