A force has been presented on the heels of two forward thinking producers in the city of Detroit. On one hand you have club & juke music enthusiast dream beach; whose style twists and turns around the sound of homegrown techno and jackān house right next door.
The other hand is hip hop wunderkind Raphy of Bruiser Brigade and beyond. His credits show an entire era of sounds produced within Danny Brownās intensive self made record label and rap squad helping lift off concept projects for names like Zelooperz, Bruiser Wolf, J.U.S, & Fat Ray.
The two came together 2 years ago to spark a community driven late night event called Sleep Olympics. The duo spearheaded bringing together pioneers like Gene Hunt, DJ Slugo, RP Boo, DJ Technics, DJ Cent, Steve Poindexter, Shawescape
Renegade and Whodat with new icons like Regal86, AMX, Black Noi$e, DJ Manny, Anna Morgan, Stonie Blue and more.ā¦ the duo began producing music together encapsulated all the energy they experienced within the chaos of organizing these woozy all night affairs; the soundtrack couldnāt be more fitting.
Their self titled 11 track album is nothing short of a journey through space and time through the lense of nite life with high tempo takes on classic
and regional sounds. Raphy being a master sample flipper shows his style turned on its head with Dreamās dance music elasticity. Their high energy sets are pure adrenaline harnessed by dancers of Detroit old and new. Fresh off their first Sleep Olympics American tour breaking shows in LA, NYC, Boston, Dallas & Atlanta in just a couple weeks; the duo arrives home in search for decks to send into chaos.
