Drawings and LEGO
Drawing is something super special for me and it's been such a fun thing to do individually or together with my partner. I've done more drawings inspired by builds than I originally thought! So I thought I'd compile what I've got so far here. It started with a hovering Winnebago I did when I first got back into drawing (slide 3) after a 10 year break. The latest (slide 1) was a Dodge van I painted with watercolor and ink last month. Most of these use alcohol marker and Micron pen. I hope you like them! I'm really hoping to continue these as it's so much fun to try new medias. I've also been trying to think of ways to implement or merge a drawing into a build. If you have any ideas, let me know! 🙂

This weekend at Bricks Cascade was nothing short of amazing, and it always seems to go by so quickly. I was honored that my white Cadillac even received an award in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles for Best Vehicle!! This year I brought a small mixture of cars I haven't displayed before, about 10. I'm very thankful for an incredible 4th year and I had so much fun showing off my builds in person! Even though this was my 7th con I still consider myself a little newer to them and the experience always blows me away, learning new things and meeting new people every year. May the 5th (hah) one be even better. 🙂

Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 (revisited)
Today I decided to start fixing up some stuff to display at Bricks Cascade! This build began almost 5 years ago exactly.
The FJ40 has seen lots of versions over the last few years and I'm really pleased with the current look. Some updates to the wheels and structure were done this time, inspired by the original build and its 'missing' hubcap (slide 5). I also wanted to share some pics I got outside! 🙂

1959 Cadillac Coupe DeVille
After over a year since I built it in Studio, it's finally in front of me in one solid color. I added opening doors but the interior is largely structural. It did take some strengthening to get those doors to work, but I'm so glad I finally figured it out.

1959 Cadillac Eldorado Woodie
Originally designed by @lwoodsgarage , one of my favorite Hot Wheels is this '59 Cadillac Eldorado woodie from the late 90s / early 2000s multi-piece Collectibles series. After quite awhile I finally got around to finishing my version! It's been over a year since it was designed in Studio. There's something super satisfying about iterating virtually and creating the build to work in real bricks which I don't do often. It even rolls which I'm pretty stoked about! 😅
I can't wait for this and the white version to be all ready for Bricks Cascade!
This uses some techniques from others' versions of the '59 that I'd like to mention (@sfh_bricks , @gamlebilrokker , @jacek_czajka , and FireFabric), particularly the front and cabin tilt, as well as the lipstick taillights.

Chevy P20 stepvan
This was a relatively quick build but I had so much fun with it! (I definitely spent too much time trying to figure out how to give the lights the white outline) I've made a lot of vans but none in this bodystyle. I tried not to keep it a single color and decided to give it some ,,SNOT" graffiti and a green gradient! 🍏 The middle bar up front is clipping, but I didn't want to replace it with a hose in Studio (in real bricks I'd do it like this)

I've been wanting to recolor this for awhile and finally got around to it! I also used some of the spoked SC wheels rather than the 2x2 dishes facing out. 🙂

2025 LEGO MOCs!
Closing the year out with a few collages, in chronological order. It's not everything, just most things that aren't the rebuilds/improvements of something older that I did. Notably, this year I made progress in Studio and Blender and I'm really excited to continue working with those programs on future builds. I also built my own car! Which I never thought I'd do. 😅 There were so many fun projects from this year, but I think my favorite (that's finished) is Guinevere!

Santa's new sleigh is so much fun, even the elves wanna take it for a spin! Even if they aren't supposed to..
Most years around this time I try to build something themed, but I wasn't inspired this year until I saw a Ford hot rod with a sleigh body a few days ago. I thought it'd be fun to give it a try! Wishing you and yours a happy holiday!
