Let me lift the veil a bit.. By the standards of the smoke & mirror circus we know as the “music industry” “H.G.H.” is credited for almost 9 million streams in the first day of its release.. if I was paying a PR firm to create the news for outlets to report, it would say something like: Underground Rap Force drops record-breaking project in more ways than one! 170 tracks in total, accumulating nearly 9 million streams in just minutes after the final release as “dopeSMOOTHIES” as he transitions in 1¢ rebrand. Be clear, every last one of those streams are legit. I never paid for bots, or any kind of streaming farms that some of your favorites have used to stay relevant & keep at least some clout to stay in your algorithm. I earned them over the course of relentlessly pushing for over 8 years! Waverunners & Hyperspace doing a lot of the heavy lifting with almost 8 million streams between the two, a couple other tracks with a 100k+, couple 10’s & 50s and the rest are either new releases or got lost in the original projects they were released on. I never set out for streaming “success” I just wanted to rap. Then I got really good & I figured why not get paid for it… then I found out rappers aren’t getting money like we all thought at some point. Unless of course they are strongly connected to a core following that supports them loyally. Going viral & not being fake was a recipe for disaster for me. I’m too honorable as a man to let perceived success inflate my ego & fuel my pursuit for what I believe I’m truly worthy of. So, I decided to go back to square one by hitting the dojo & in the words of Dragonfly Jones, “practiced on my art” so I could know my way in this dark and twisted fantasy we know as rap. I’ve had probably 100s of people hit me telling me they found me on Spotify, definitely not 1000s & absolutely not millions. Which for me made those streams meaningless especially once I started getting those payouts… those fractions of a penny haha H.G.H. will be the last release inflated by my past playlist success. dopeSMOOTHIES is a juice and smoothie company that will be open for business Summer ‘26…..
