T4MA last week had an incredible opportunity to collaborate with Brockton Workers Alliance (
@brocktonworkersalliance ), and New England Community Project, NECP (
@necommunityproject ) during our final day of Organizing school to hear directly from Brockton residents and experience transit firsthand 🚍
We rode the newly electric BAT buses along Routes 2 & 8 which are cleaner, quieter, diesel-free, and fully ADA accessible. These buses serve 11,000–13,000 riders daily and operate across 12 fixed routes, with some extending beyond Brockton. With 99% on-time transfers, the system is making a real impact—even on longer trips like Brockton to Ashmont (50–70 minutes).
What stood out most were the riders. From encouraging use of the transit app to sharing positive experiences, it’s clear how meaningful reliable transit is. Shoutout to the bus drivers for being informative, supportive, and truly community-focused. We are grateful to BAT leadership and staff for their insight and dedication:
🔴Michael Lambert, BAT Administrator
🔴Kelly Forrester, Manager of Transit Operations
🔴Michelle, our amazing Bus Operator
And thank you to Brockton City Councilor At-Large Carla Darosa (
@monteirodarosacarla ) along with all the residents and advocates who made this day so impactful.
Public transit is more than a service, it’s a lifeline.
