I recently heard this explained as the 5th Gospel. It’s yours, it’s mine. A light is not to be put under a table, but it’s to be left out for all the world to see. How you conduct yourself while proclaiming a relationship with Christ matters. It’s your first ministry on public display and people pay close attention. For far too long people have continued to walk in the ways of the world while proclaiming to be followers of Christ. He said “Follow Me”. He said it would cost us everything. We have been called, we have been set apart. It’s time we act like it. Be a light, be salt.

“If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”

Christ speaks plainly while being tempted by satan in the desert. We may sustain our flesh on bread, but our souls, our eternal lives require much more. Christ makes the declaration here that we must be made alive by the very Word of God. How then can we do this if we are not actively pursuing The Word of God? We can’t. To take this a step further, a bit deeper into the beauty of what Christ says here, He later says in The Gospel of John “I am the bread of Life, whoever comes to me will never go hungry”. Today is the day to start feasting on The Word of God. Christ Jesus will be faithful to sustain us.

For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self? Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.”

We must stop playing with God. We must stop turning to our faith when it is convenient. We must stop allowing cultural Christianity to shape our lives. God’s inerrant Word is sufficient. His Word is truth. We must read it. We must fall before the Cross daily with a radical dependency and love for our Savior. We must stop listening to all of the noise and allow the Holy Spirit to guide and teach us all things. There simply is no other way.
If you Believe in the God of the Bible who placed the moon and the stars. Who commands the seas to halt at the shoreline, I pose a serious question? Is he to be played with? The short answer is, No.
Revelation 3:15-16
“I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.”

Take up your Cross daily Brothers and Sisters. The Apostles preached as though Christ was returning in their lifetime. 2000yrs later how much closer are we now. Stay grounded in him. Have a blessed day 🙌🏼👍🏼

He found me in a pit, in the dirt. Angry, depressed, suicidal. His power changed my heart in a blink. I knew it had happened and I knew it was good, but it was a power that I didn’t understand. To be honest at first it terrified me. But then, over time, he took me by the hand and started showing me the way. Since that day I have felt the mountain top, but I’ve had to learn how to walk in the valley. Wherever I am he is always with me. My Lord, My Savior. The Christ.
I have tried to put into words how grateful I am for his love. There are no words. I share his Good News because I know he loves you too. And he has the power to change you. He did all the work, he cleaned up all our mess. All we are asked to do is accept, in faith, this free gift from God. The gift of his Son. We are to love him and others. We are to gently, without hesitation give an account of just how good he is. There are many things I do not know. But one thing is for certain. I know who I was before I accepted the gift of Jesus and I know who I am now. Praise God in Heaven for this new heart that lives inside of me.
