How many minutes are in a day? Each day gives us 1,440 minutesâan invitation to be intentional with how we live them. In the early stages of this place, our co-creators paused during a brainstorming session, each stepping away to reset and reconnect. In her garden, Joanie picked a perfectly ripe tomato and wondered: how many of these moments do we truly take to slow down and be present? That reflection became the name 1440âand a reminder to notice how youâre using one mindful moment today.â

How do you make space for stillness in your day?
Tucked along the landscape, Persephone by Welton Rotz reveals itself to those who move with a curious eye. Inspired by Persephone, she embodies the quiet passage between winterâs darkness and the gentle return of spring. Her presence mirrors the natural cycles unfolding all around: rest, renewal, and reemergence. A reminder that renewal unfolds in its own time. #1440Multiversity

Within these rooms, there is space to pause, to breathe, and to be held as you are. From places of rest to spaces of gathering and learning, each one is shaped with intention and care. Here, stillness and connection move side by side, softened by nature and presence. â

Which space would you find yourself returning to again and again?
One of the hearts of 1440 is Pete Delfino, our Procurement Manager. For the past eight years, he has been an integral part of the 1440 community.â
â
Peteâs favorite part about working here is that there is always something new and exciting. He values the opportunity to work closely with local organic farms, building meaningful relationships and supporting the farming community he has spent most of his life in. His favorite signature class is Stick Tai Chi, where movement and mindfulness come together in a thoughtful, embodied practice. His favorite place on campus is the Mother Tree, a space that reflects the deep connection between nature and 1440, bringing together nature, community, and a shared sense of inspiration and learning.â
â
Outside of campus, Pete enjoys horseback riding along the trails of Big Sur, immersed in the natural beauty of the coast. Lately, heâs been exploring cooking, learning new recipes, and finding joy in trying something new in the kitchen. #1440Multiversity
Rooted in intention from the very beginning, over 650 trees were planted as this space took shape, with many more added over time. A variety of tree species were chosen, each playing a unique and essential role in supporting a thriving, interconnected ecosystem. Each one is a quiet commitment to the future, helping to restore balance and care for the land. Coast redwoods, among the most powerful carbon-capturing trees on Earth, remind us that protecting whatâs local can create global impact. This Arbor Day, take a moment to notice the trees around you and share something that grounds you below. #1440Multiversity

The root of living well begins with healing, community, and caring for the well-being of ourselves and one another. A few moments from Awakening Your Wild Soul with 1440 Adjunct Faculty member Renee Trudeau. A community of women came together to slow down, reconnect inward, and explore what it means to Live Well and, in turn, Love Well, through presence and connection. A gentle reminder that when we care for ourselves first, we create the capacity to show up more fully in all aspects of our lives.
Spring invites us to reconnect with whatâs naturally in season, fresh, vibrant, and full of nourishment. This is a moment to learn what the land is offering, and how choosing seasonal produce can support both your well-being and the rhythms of the world around you. Living well begins with awareness and grows through the choices we make each day. What is your favorite produce item for spring? #1440Multiversity
Maybe this is where you need to be, surrounded by nature, presence, and people who care. A space designed for meaningful learning, connection, and meaningful growth. At 1440, living well is something we practice together. What does living well look like for you right now?
A gentle reminder for Stress Awareness Month: you donât have to carry it all alone. When we slow down and tune inward, we begin to understand what we truly need to feel supported. Because Living Well starts with awareness and grows through connection, care, and intention. Share your favorite way to pause and reset, and learn from someone in the comments. #1440Multiversity
