The mission was to capture the spirit of a @113events race. I’d done the race myself a few times previously, so knew what it was all about and I was keen to ensure I portrayed that accurately!

The marshals at our races are widely regarded as the best and most enthusiastic in the sport, and that’s because we look after them, pay them and ensure the have a great day out helping the competitors have a brilliant time
We have around 200 paid positions on the day and we always need more people to join the team
Marshals also get free camping and parking 100m from the start, hot food, drinks and ice creams and we take them all through a full briefing and kit them up with everything they might need, so you need no experience, and all we ask is that you’re over 16 and enthusiastic
Our marshals all get paid too, and you can choose from £20 cash or a £50 113 events voucher

Worried about those pesky cut offs ?
We don’t have specific Swim, Bike or Run cut offs at 113 Events
Although the rules say we have to publish an overall cut off, we set it to the maximum of 8.5hrs, and in reality, we’re still pretty flexible with it
Our take on it is that as long as you’ve not stopped at one of the lovely Cotswold Pubs out on our bike courses for a 2hr roast dinner, if you’re soldiering along we’ll keep the finish line open for you as long as it takes within reason, and you’ll still get an official finish time and medal etc
