This year was insane, 3 fish at or over 200 pounds with dozens of other tarpon 150-180 pounds. I shared the boat with some of the greatest people and we had some of the best days ever in the history of tarpon fishing period. I can’t say thank you enough to all of the wonderful guests and friends who’ve helped make this possible along the way.

The acceptable bycatch has been biting! Most of these are 38-40” fish! Some people have no idea how big these are because it will be their first snook ever!
On days where tarpon fishing is great and we’ve landed a few of them we will transition into a big snook hunt and try to catch a giant! That gives us a break, the tarpon a break, and sets a new goal for the day. Rather than beating up the tarpon for 8 hours straight we may tweak our trip and target other species including trophy snook for part of the day! However on the tougher winter days, it may take all day to get a few tarpon to bite so we tend to leave the snook alone when it’s chilly!

We took advantage of the 85 degree water and secured the beach photo with a very nice tarpon! These ladies went straight from basic largemouth bass fishing to big tarpon boot camp! They did very well and defeated an 80+ pound fish together in under 15 minutes!
October is traditionally the start of falling water temps and minor cold fronts, fortunately we’ve had some beautiful weather hanging around lately! October is filling fast, Nov has quite a few open dates available! Some very large tarpon will be caught within the next couple of months!
