Welcome to our 🔎 More About 🔎 series and celebrate with us the small presses, authors, and books from our Small Press Subscription Program! Our third and last small press, author, and book from the May Bundle, which you can sign up for by April 15th [link in profile], is… 📚 1080 PRESS 📚: a publisher and print shop based in Kingston, New York, focused on keeping poetry in print—especially work that, in the spirit of Leslie Scalapino, reveals the mind at work in the making of the poem. Through collaborative book design, offset printing and production bookbinding, we hope to connect the writing we publish directly to the production of the book; and work in gratitude to the poet printers who have come before us. ✨Sahar Khraibani✨: a writer, artist, and the author of Anatomy of a Refusal (1080PRESS, 2025) and ONE THOUSAND GHOSTS IN THIS FEAST (Wendy’s Subway, 2025), and at the center of the cyclone everything cracks (Belladonna, forthcoming). 🦵Anatomy of a Refusal (2025) 🦵 A quote from the book’s description: “Written after the Beirut Port Explosion on August 4, 2020, when 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate exploded in the commercial and residential port of Beirut after years of warning and mismanagement, Anatomy of a Refusal drifts between lineated and prose poetry, creating a transitional space of mourning.” Q1: What challenged you while putting your collection together? A1: I would say the biggest challenge (and relief) was coming to terms with the fact that this body of work will have a life of its own, and would exist independently of me out in the world. Q2: How would you describe your relationship with space (on the page)? A2: tension, relief, acquiescence. Q3: What was the very first line you wrote in Anatomy of a Refusal? A3: "our loved ones demand honesty but all they really want is fiction" ~~~ @1080press @add_value_add_time #SmallPressPublishing #SmallPressSubscription #Poetry

The February newsletter is now here by Madeleine Braun @madeleine______rose , “Flip Your Lid”. Very grateful for Maddie and all her work. After 3.5 years of newsletters we are finally switching up the format a bit. With the increased price of, well, just abt everything, we will be shifting to a two month mailing schedule. There will still be a newsletter for every month of the year, however there will only be 6 mailings a year instead of 12. It pains us to make this shift, but with the mailing list being over 800 subscribers it’s a necessary adaptation. With that said, the newsletter is still free and if you would like to receive Maddie’s or future mailings please send us a DM with your full name and address. :) -as always, thank you for your readership. ❤️‍🔥
