Trace is an immersive, multi-sensory performance that reflects on the different ways of making and experiencing music from the perspectives of people with disabilities and allies. Trace is the act of following a line with your finger, as well as tracing assumptions to its source. During this performance, we offer a way to experience concerts differently through music, poetry and theatrical elements with embedded accessibility features. The concert will premiere The Sleepers by @georgia_scott_composer , which incorporates audio description as part of the musicโs aesthetic. @theemeraldruby โs Texture Map explores possibilities through movements and texture.
Curated by Ria Andriani and featuring music written by and for people with disability the program includes composers and performers, Georgia Scott, Jennifer Hankin, Tessa Gutierrez, @lamornanightingale and a very special performance from the Monday Club led by Tony Gorman. Non-binary, Asexual, Biracial AND Neurodivergent? Utter Mess! In a one hour, one enby show, Artemis unpacks their identity and a number of conceptual (and literal) boxes with the help of nine original songs. A show about labels and the difference between the words that confine us and the words that set us free.
This show is for anyone who has ever wondered where they belong or been confused about living in a world that takes issue with words of identity and community but is keen to put us in the wrong boxes nonetheless. In this show, Artemis looks over their journey to self discovery as a non-binary, asexual, bi-racial and neurodivergent person through song, story and several excellent puns.
