Meet Beatrice, the woman in Kidakama known for her banana and sorghum beer. 🍺
Before 100WEEKS, Beatrice sold beer made by others. The margins were small, and growing her income was nearly impossible.
So Beatrice changed the recipe. With 100WEEKS, she started brewing her own traditional banana and sorghum beer (yes, banana beer is a real thing).
Her customer base started growing and Beatrice turned her profits into some solid investments: livestock, land, running water at home and a new kitchen.
🍺 Next time you find yourself thirsty in Kidakama, pull up a chair at Beatrice’s brewery and take notes.

100WEEKS works in multiple African countries without having a team present.
We don’t open offices everywhere we expand to. Instead, we partner with local organizations that already know the communities they work with. We currently use this approach in Kenya and Zambia.
The partners run the program using the 100WEEKS model - direct cash transfers, coaching, training, and impact tracking - while our team provides guidance to help maintain the quality of every program.
Local expertise on the ground, with the same 100WEEKS standards behind it. 🌍

Poverty is complex. But sometimes the first step forward is surprisingly simple.
For many women in our program, that first step looks very practical: buying food, paying school fees, covering rent, or getting healthcare. The things that can’t be postponed.
At the start of our program, women ate an average of 1.8 meals a day. By the end, that number rose to 2.9 meals a day.
That’s more than one extra meal a day.
🍽️ Sometimes impact looks exactly like this: one less daily worry.

Meet Alice: farmer, entrepreneur, and living proof that smart investments don’t always start on Wall Street. Sometimes they start with a pig. 🐷
Before 100WEEKS, Alice struggled with irregular work and little stability. What she needed wasn’t advice, but capital.
With her first cash transfer, she bought a pig and sold it for profit, unlocking bigger investments: a bicycle for her husband’s taxi business, a cow, land, and home repairs.
Then COVID hit, wiping out much of her progress - but not her determination. Today, Alice is rebuilding and working toward even bigger goals.
💅 Who knew “trust women with cash” would be such a strong investment strategy? (We did.)

That these dancing ladies went from forming a savings group to owning a successful gin business?
In Winneba, Ghana, these women spotted the potential in local sugarcane and got to work producing akpeteshie (a popular local gin). With cash support and everything they learned together in their savings group, they scaled up production and grew their savings side by side.
No business school required. Just cash, a strong network, and women who know how to spot an opportunity.
From saving together to running a booming gin business. Talk about money well spent.
Cheers to these women. 🥂

What happens to savings when women receive unconditional cash support for 100 weeks?
At the start of the program, women save on average €12,55 per month. By the end, this increases to €47,-.
In the years after the program, savings decline, but remain well above the starting point, even 4 years later at €21,65.
This is what trust looks like in numbers.
It means providing consistent support, without conditions or instructions, and trusting women to decide what matters most. And they do. They build savings, create a buffer, and make decisions that continue to have an impact long after the program ends.
💰 Trust creates the space for women to build lasting financial security.

Meet Coulibaly, who turned her love for poultry into a thriving business.
🐔 From a young age, Coulibaly learned the art of poultry farming from her mother. But without the means to turn it into a stable business, taking care of her family was difficult. When her husband’s cocoa field was later destroyed by a tree disease, that pressure only increased.
🚀 With the support of 100WEEKS, she invested in what she already knew best: poultry. Today, she sells over 400 chickens every three months, generating a steady income and supporting her household alongside her husband.
💪 Coulibaly is building on years of experience, growing her business step by step towards her goal: a modern farm and becoming one of the leading poultry breeders in her area.

During the 100WEEKS program, 85% of women expand their existing business.
That growth shows in everyday decisions: increasing stock, adding new products, reaching more customers, or simply being able to keep the business running consistently.
🏪 Expanding a business means more stable and reliable income. It creates room to plan ahead, reinvest, and gradually build financial security.
Step by step, these businesses grow into something families can count on, while the women behind them grow into confident entrepreneurs.

Meet Esi, a mother of five from Ghana, who built a business right outside her front door.
🍽️ Before 100WEEKS, life was tough. The family often ate just once a day, and school was out of reach. Her twin sons, Michael and Maxwell, had been trafficked to work on Lake Volta. With support from Challenging Heights, she brought them home - but without income, the risk of losing them again remained.
🐟 With 100WEEKS, Esi began cooking and selling Etiwo: a maize-based dish served with pepper and smoked fish. What started with a small pot has grown into a full-day business in front of her home.
💪 The family now eats three meals a day, the children are in school, and Esi has a steady income. She has even bought a small piece of land, taking the first steps toward building a more comfortable home for her children.
