@ashtral.projection writes: “One early morning in June 2021, I had the opportunity to explore 100 N Main thanks to the Downtown Memphis Commission. A small group of us climbed all 37 stories, stopping every few floors to wander the halls. The vestiges of the businesses that once filled the building – dental exam equipment, stacks of books, outdated technology, and all kinds of furniture – painted a vivid picture of the building’s history, while the crumbling and broken architectural features hinted at its former glory days. As we climbed higher, so did the heat. By the time we reached the uppermost floors, we were grateful whenever a cooling breeze found its way in through a broken window. Upon reaching the rooftop, we were rewarded with stunning, panoramic views of the city and river. This unique experience was the perfect blend of history and adventure, leaving me with a memory that I’ll treasure for years to come.”

My husband and I even had our first date on the rooftop 12 years ago. We’ve thrown numerous parties there. And I can’t count the number of times I’ve gotten stuck on those old Otis elevators 😅 My coworkers and I would run the 34 flights of stairs on lunch break for exercise. Oh, how I miss that place! I am thrilled that someone is giving it a chance and renovating it.” #100northmainbuilding #100northmain #downtownmemphis

@adamexelbierd writes: “The tallest building in Memphis has always had a special place in my heart. From hearing stories of the past and dreaming of its future. To me it represents life in Memphis. A once thriving building full of business and life that was left to ruin because it was not worth the time or money to maintain/restore. I was lucky enough to be in the building during its vacant years with a tribe of people I will never forget. We spent many a night exploring, photographing, dancing, painting, and vibin as a community under the careful direction of @webraw and others. No destruction, just love and appreciation for what we thought that building could be! Climbing 40 floors to the top was brutal, but the sunsets and people once on top were unmatched. This group eventually led to the formation of Grind City Meet and an amazing collaboration of the best Memphis Artists has to offer. I cannot wait to see what the 100 becomes and how it will help be part of the regrowth of Downtown Memphis the next generations need.” #100northmain #100northmainbuilding #downtownmemphis
