! Emmy voters ! My plea, if you will: Every episode I’m faced with sculpting over 400 tracks of waves, beach ambiences, surfboard ripping, wetsuits, jetskis, seagulls, more waves, dialog, Phillip glass score- did I mention more waves?!? Into a film. We are painting with audio! None of what you are hearing is real… it’s is created by myself and a hard working team of 6. (Whom are also nominated for sound editing!) Then I mix it so it’s believable, but hyped up. Organic - yet designy. I try and find a beat and a place for every little sound to shine through. And that takes a lotttt of balancing. Lots of long nights. I’m up against some beasts… Beatles/the epicness of John Williams score/skywalker sound… pee wee… yacht rock!?!! Music documentaries usually drive this category, and that’s no different this year. . But imo @100footwave is a true creative work of art. I would be honored if you gave us a listen and judged for yourself. 🙏 and even more honored if you dropped a comment or shared this.
