A giant Tōtara has fallen.
Today we're heartbroken to share the news that our founder and head of pasting, Jim Wilson, has passed away peacefully in his sleep, of natural causes.
Jim turned glue and paper into legacy, paving the way for musicians, poets and artists in New Zealand. That passion created modern day street poster advertising and has championed thousands of people looking to get their art into the world.
Jim believed the streets should speak. So he made them sing with posters, with poems, with music, with soul.
Jim taught us the true meaning of living fast, and doing something worthwhile, highlighting that in life, are we not here to help each other?
There's a million things we could say, and we want to encourage all those who knew Jim to reach out and share some of the stories you have with us, and each other.
Raise a glue-bucket. Paste something beautiful. Keep it human. That's what Jim would've done.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Kelly, his step-children Tessa and Andrew, and his grandchildren, Isaiah and Jaya.
We've created a space where Jim's writing and legacy can live on, the link to access this is in our bio. If you knew him and have a story or photos to share, we'd love to see them.
