On Monday evening I was able to attend my first-ever private screening via RSVP, representing Film Combat Syndicate in a room of ten other film critics. The screening was hosted by Lionsgate/Grindstone who are releasing Tyler Atkins' new MMA thriller, BEAST, in theaters on Friday, April 10.
The movie stars Dan MacPherson, Russell Crowe, Kelly Gale, Mojean Aria, Bren Foster, Luke Hemsworth, and Amy Shark, with a script by Crowe and screenwriter David Frigerio, and action sequences by Foster. It follows an ex-fighter who sets out to repair old rifts when his brother's life is put in danger, forcing him back into the arena for the biggest fight of his life.
From a technical standpoint, the screening was a better experience than I thought it would be, and I had a blast getting to know fellow critic
@hercityview and her friend
@socialchicknyc . Special thanks to my good friend
@spontaneously_saej for coming through later in the evening, and to the PR firm for inviting me last week.
Review embargos lifted on Tuesday morning hours after the screening, but... I needed my sleep, mainly since I have another one to attend very soon today after posting this. Hit the LINK IN BIO for my review!
