I made this map last year to better understand the size of Japan. I've spent a lot of time driving between Denver and Tucson and around the US Soutwest. In this map, Nogales is even with Osaka, Las Cruces is even with Tokyo and Denver is even with Sapporo. This map isn't just a straight copy of one map on top of the other... Differences in projection distortion (due to latitude) have been corrected. Turns out I love both of these places quite a bit. Please note that Phoenix is at high-risk of being claimed as part of China, or taken out by a typhoon.
