How about going up in the pay scale based on increased degrees. Plus 30 as our max is laughable. We should absolutely see more pay increases for additional masters and doctoral degrees. Highly educated teachers should be a UFT priority. No ridiculous credits. Actual academic credits and degrees that can further a teachers knowledge and applications in the classroom deserve higher pay.
This UFT is only for folks with tenure, there is literally no protection for teaching who are actually on probation for 4 years and may be locked out of a district permanently if a principal doesn’t like them. Where’s the rights for probationary teachers?
News flash. The Governor announced last week that the City will get 28 billion. Now the city will get 32 billion. The extra 4 billion includes 2.3 million for pension restructure. Dear UFT, is that fixing Tier 6???????
