The week focused on public health advocacy, humanitarian collaboration, cancer prevention, and grassroots political engagement.
On Monday, Dr. Iziaq Kunle Salako addressed stakeholders at activities commemorating the 2026 World Malaria Day, where he reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to reducing malaria prevalence and deaths by 50 percent by 2030 through the National Malaria Strategic Plan (2026–2030).
On Tuesday, the Honourable Minister received the Head of Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Ms. Doris El Doueihy, to discuss humanitarian collaboration, support for vulnerable populations, and ongoing partnership efforts in conflict-affected communities. Discussions also touched on medicine importation, local pharmaceutical production, and Nigeria’s advancing regulatory standards.
Wednesday took the Minister to Imo State for the official flag-off ceremony of the Cervical Cancer Screening Programme under the Partnership for Cervical Cancer Elimination in Nigeria (PECCIN). The engagement highlighted the Federal Government’s intensified efforts toward early detection, HPV vaccination, cancer prevention, and implementation of the National Strategic Cancer Control Plan (2026–2030).
The week concluded on Friday with a solidarity parade and convergence of APC support groups in Ogun State, where the Honourable Minister emphasised party unity, grassroots mobilisation, and continued support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.
