TRAGEDY HITS ESINELE & YAWOTA COMMUNITIES IN OGBOMOSO AS GUNMEN KILL TWO, ABDUCT SCHOOL PRINCIPAL AND PUPILS
Suspected gunmen have reportedly invaded Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, abducting the school principal alongside an unspecified number of students.
In a related attack, assailants also stormed Baptist Nursery and Primary School in Yawota community, where one person was reportedly killed while several pupils were declared missing.
Both Ahoro-Esinele and Yawota communities are said to be about 3km apart within the Ogbomoso axis. Security sources disclosed that operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have been deployed to the affected areas and investigations are currently ongoing.
Residents alleged that the attackers exploited the dense forest reserve corridor linking parts of southwestern Nigeria to the Republic of Benin to carry out the coordinated assaults before escaping.
