And what a hundred years! I’ll never forget when David arrived for the Wildlife Trusts’ annual conference. I designed the conference backdrop display and volunteered to help set up. On arrival I found a bat asleep over the door to the venue. I introduced David to the ‘conference bat’ and we all used the side door until the bat had removed itself. It was an honour to spend time with such a lovely and enthusiastic man and a very discerning bat!
